Representative of the Director-General of the United Nations Centre in Vienna, the Executive Secretary Chartchai Chavalit, head of News Department of the United Nations in Vienna wentesiboge, China in Vienna Chargé Chen Peijie and permanent missions to the United Nations envoys and diplomats, officials of the United Nations Secretariat and the Confucius Institute in Vienna, about 200 people attended the opening ceremony.
Chartchai Chavalit said in a speech, exhibition of Chinese characters is a cultural feast. It not only to show the audience the history, culture and beautiful shape of Chinese characters, but also deepened the people as one of the six official languages of the United Nations understanding of the Chinese and Chinese culture and Chinese history. Chinese character carries thousands of years of Chinese history, from ancient times to the present important means for people to communicate.
Chen Peijie agents said in his speech, has a history of 5,000 years of Chinese characters, are representative of the Chinese language and culture. It is a communication tool, is also a carrier of Chinese civilization.
This exhibition of three weeks, through display panels and real, clear and concise introduction of the origin, development and evolution of Chinese characters, the scene also show Chinese calligraphy shows, four treasures, as well as computer input method of Chinese character presentation, and more. During the exhibition, Center of the United Nations will be held at Vienna in China film series showing activity.
